A.
D. SUTTON of NEW ZEALAND
I began drawing seriously at a very early age and still have my first
sketchbook from the age of 10 years. Back then it was al pictures of my favorite
Marvel heroes (Thor, Spiderman, The Hulk) but I remember my first attempt at
life drawing done of a girl in my class. She was clothed and seated at her
primary school desk – I fancied her and I was bored with ABC’s. I didn’t
know it then but it was the first seed of what was to become my all-consuming
passion as I matured. Drawing women.
Twenty-five years later and without ever attending an Art school (I never
thought I was good enough) I taught myself to draw and to paint. As a teenager I
worked in Acrylics but by about 18 years was so dissatisfied with my work that I
took it all out into the backyard and set fire to it. Some pieces do survive,
taken by friends of the time. I have tried to recover them in order to destroy
them, but they steadfastly refused to return the works. After that exorcism I
went down the road and purchased my first set of oils and began anew.
I graduated from Auckland University with a Science Degree in Ecology and
while I love nature I knew my passion for painting was greater and never pursued
a career in Ecology, instead finding work with an Adult magazine. The only truly
serious adult magazine ever published in New Zealand. The infamous “Key
Contacts”. Although through my five-year relationship with the magazine before
it died it was known by many names. We kept being taken to the Indecent
Publications tribunal and as a result of being banned we were constantly forced
to change title names. The puritanical minorities never caused our demise
however, financial problems did.
It was an interesting period in my life and while my family didn’t like
what I was doing I learned a lot about publishing and more about people. It also
helped me develop my drawing skills, as I was resident artist. It was also here
I learned about fetishism and that there was more to sex than the book my mother
handed me at puberty. I can’t really say I’ve a particular fetish although
I’m incredibly turned on by sleek and toned women with muscle definition. For
example, take Linda Hamilton when she pumped up for “Terminator 2” and
dressed in all that military gear. I’m sure you get the picture.
After “Key Contacts” I needed another outlet for my erotic images and
found “Reb”, who was good enough to give me some exposure in Versatile
Fashions publications. But people around me never enjoyed that part of my art
and for the past 4 years or so it’s largely remained buried in my mind while I
continue to try and develop my painting to a professional artist level. You’re
welcome to visit my personal website to see some of that. I absolutely dream of
earning a living as an artist. I’ve a lot of erotic images that I want to
bring into the world and it’s a shame that people around me can’t see past
this as nothing more than filth.
Life is about sex after all. Reproduction is the only concern of all
organisms and if the doe was a self-conscious beast I’m sure she would find
something erotic about her mates big antlers. We are those self-conscious beasts
and to me eroticism is directly linked to survival and there can be nothing
wrong in that. An open mind is a healthy mind and one day I hope to produce some
truly erotic and exquisite paintings.
Thanks to Reb Stout for this opportunity and to other artists who provide
inspiration. And lastly to those sleek muscular women.

REB’S NOTES ON A. D. SUTTON
David is another artist that sent a package of artworks to me years ago.
I always get excited when the package says “Artwork – Do Not Bend”…then
I saw the stamps from New Zealand. It’s like opening a treasure chest –
always a thrill!
I am a firm believer that there are a lot of “Fetish Fanatics” in
Australia and New Zealand. Every person I’ve met from “Down Under” has
been kinky-to-the-core!
The artistic images created by A. D. have a flavor all his own – pure
bizarre lust – wild fantasies – the bondage, cuffs, whips, domination and
submission.
